As birds disappear from our environment, so are their sounds vanishing. This piece visualizes the volume and beauty of bird song, and in doing so, transforms how we see birds. Each strand represents the song of an endangered Oregon bird as a sound waveform. The overall design was inspired by Multnomah Falls. Birdsong and waveforms were provided by the Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
